Custom Access Permissions on a Shared Directory

  1. Locate the folder you want to change permissions for
  2. Right-click on the desired folder, left-click on "Properties"
  3. Navigate to the "Security" tab
  4. Click "Advanced"; Click "Edit" in the "Advanced Security Settings" box
  5. Uncheck the "Include inheritable..." and click "Add" in the pop-up window
  6. Click "Ok"; Click "Ok"; Click "Edit"; Click "Add" (or "Remove")
  7. Add or remove desired groups to allow/deny access; set permissions accordingly
  8. Apply all changes
