Create a schedulable resource in Exchange

  1. Logon to the Exchange server
  2. Open Exchange Management Console
  3. In the left-hand panel, go to: Microsoft Exchange On-Premises -> Recipient Configuration -> Mailbox
  4. In the right-hand panel, click on New Mailbox.
  5. Select the radio button for Room Mailbox; click Next
  6. Select New user; click Next
  7. Checkmark the box at the top that says Specify the organizational unit.; click Browse
  8. In the Select Organizational Unit window, select the appropriate organizational unit; click OK
  9. Fill in the Name: field, and the User logon name field; click Next
  10. The Alias: field should auto-populate; checkmark the box that says Specify the mailbox database.; click Browse
  11. Select the appropriate database based on where the room is located; click OK; click Next
  12. Click New to finish the creation process.
  13. In the Mailbox - Entire Forest panel, locate the new room, right-click and select Properties
  14. Click on the Resource General tab and checkmark Enable the Resource Booking Attendent.
  15. Click OK; exit Exchange Management Console; log off of the Exchange server.
